1. The Need to communicate with others.

2. The Need to resolve the existential question to ones satisfaction and not be intentionally confused and frustrated about the subject.

3. The Need to care for others and to feel cared for by others.

4. The Need to know the relative truth of one’s own beliefs

5. The Need to feel ones views are respected

6. The Need to be confirmed in ones person

7. The Need for individual and communal balance and harmony

8. The Need to be in control of one’s life

9. The Need for empowerment.

10. The Need to go that extra mile ( Not required or essential to living a healthy, balanced life, but rewarding nonetheless).

1. Need to communicate with others.

People at all ages and even animals have the need to communicate and to be communicated with. Communication is basic to our survival and to our development as intelligent thoughtful and caring human beings.

If our loved ones or guardians facilitate good communication skills in us as children we are prone to do the same and develop healthy confident personalities in our children. Building and passing on good communication skills to others is a form of positive human development. Even our pets, like our own lives, benefit from good communication.

Poor communication skills lead to many problems. The need to correct this is a measure of the psychological health of the person.

Good interactive communication skills with children help them to form healthy psychological attachments and relationships. Children who have a healthy attachment formation to their parents or guardians is because their need to be heard is nurtured and good communication is facilitated.

The need for healthy communication with others is important with children at every stage in their lives and also adults at any stage in their lives. Telling the truth is important to the communication process. Lack of honesty in people and evasiveness is a symptom of greater problems. One of the answers to helping people with anti-social personality disorder is helping them to fix the communication needs in their lives.

Through one positive therapeutic relationship the social mechanics of a damaged life can be fixed and the problems that have frustrated them can often be healed. Lastly, in psychology, there is something to be said about how the development of a spiritual life (or inner peace) can lead people to better results in a person’s communications with others.

The Need to communicate with others is inherent. It should come as no surprise. However, interruptions in this need can lead to social problems later in life.

On communication

There is right communication and wrong communication or positive and negative communication. The need for a person to communicate lies may not necessarily indicate an anxiety, dysfunctional or emotional disorder, especially if the liar is a professional liar and knows how to communicate positively and effectively.

Our concern is with person who is genuinely interested in getting help and who needs to be taught how to communicate more effectively. This works towards making them a better citizen. A healthy society is one who communicates honestly under pressure and all circumstances for the betterment of all.
